4" x 1.5" Iron-on patch.
Detailed Step-by-Step Instructions:
Prep the Item: Lay your garment or accessory on a flat, heat-resistant surface. Ensure the fabric is clean, wrinkle-free, and smooth.
Turn Off the Steam: Set your iron to the "Cotton" setting (about 350°F to 400°F). Make sure the water reservoir is empty and the steam function is completely turned off.
Place the Patch: Position the patch exactly where you want it. Place a thin press cloth, spare cotton fabric, or piece of parchment paper over the patch to protect the embroidery and surrounding material from scorching.
Apply Initial Heat: Press the iron straight down onto the patch and press firmly with steady, even pressure for 20 to 30 seconds. Do not slide or move the iron around, as this can cause the patch to shift.
Secure from the Backside: Carefully turn the garment inside out and place the cloth or parchment paper under the patch area. Iron the back of the patch for another 20 to 30 seconds.
Cool and Inspect: Let the item rest on your ironing board undisturbed for at least five minutes so the glue can cool and bond completely. Once fully cooled, gently tug at the edges to check the adhesion. If any edges are lifting, repeat the heating process for 10-15 seconds.
Helpful Tips:
Avoid Synthetics: Iron-on adhesives require high heat, which can melt synthetic fabrics like nylon, polyester, or rayon. If you are applying to these materials, use a lower heat setting or sew the patch on instead.
Added Security: For heavy use or items that will be washed frequently, reinforce the bond by hand or machine-sewing a few stitches around the edges of the patch.
